I'm a relative newb here to gentoo, and i recently did an emerge sync, which then told me to update some files in /etc.... so I did the whole CONFIG_PROTECT="-*" thing, which overwrites my files, which is alright, I'm just unsure how to change my setting for bash prompt back.. I looked at my .bashrc file, and this has the normal prompt settings still in there... currently I only get a "bash-2.05b$" or "bash-2.05#" in su.. I'm just not sure where this might have been changed... if anyone has any ideas I'd be happy to get a reply

Thanks

The prompt is set in /etc/profile:
Code:
export PS1='\[\033[01;32m\]\u@\h \[\033[01;34m\]\W \$ \[\033[00m\]'
