Sup'll.
I use mpg321, no particular reason.
It is very similar to mpg123 no?
When I go to install KDE3.0.2, it wants me to install mpg123.
Can this be change to accept mpg321 or mpg123?
Because mpg321 makes a symlink "mpg123", and the params are the same no?
Watda reckon?

Personally, I think it's a good idea. There's no reason to have them both installed at the same time, just because one is required, when either will work just as well!
I've never used mpg321... is there a benefit or feature of it that mpg123 doesn't have? _________________ Even a stopped clock gives the right time twice a day. |

<quote>mpg321 is a Free clone of mpg123, a command-line MP3 player. It is designed to be a drop-in replacement for mpg123, and therefore its interface has been designed around that of mpg123, without using any of its code. mpg321 has been designed for use with frontends such as gqmpeg, although it is just as useful on the command-line. Unlike mpg123, it supports ESD and ALSA output without recompiling, and it does all MP3 decoding with only fixed-point math by using the mad MPEG audio decoder library. </quote>
The mpg321 gentoo package installs a symlink mpg123 -> mpg321.
And mpg321 has an interface directly copied from mpg123( meaning command line option).
Is this possible easily in gentoo?
