Hello, is it possible to install gentoo's portage files from an harddrive source. I don't have any communication at home, so at work I could load the files, and bring them back on an hardrive. But.., I loaded the entire FTP files (couple of Go) but it doesn't seem to contain the files that I would have found with Rsync. Soo where and how can I found those file.
thanks? |

When using emerge, all downloaded files (like *.tar.gz or *.bz2) will be placed in /usr/portage/distfiles
You can download the source for anything that portage supports and copy them to /usr/portage/distfiles and then you can run emerge some_program and it should work. |
