Seriously, it's been going for at least 1.5 - 2 hours now ... nothing else in the process has taken this long. Is this relatively normal?

I suppose I should clarify ... it's not being slow because of my 'net connection, that part is well over with. It hasn't given any sort of errors ... it's just chugging along. So again I ask, is this normal? |

Are there any dependencies that need to be taken care of (check the ebuild) that would take a long time to compile (i.e. X)? That may be what is being compiled and taking forever. I've never personally had drivers take that long to compile, so it does seem a bit suspicious to me.
Also, you may want to examine your USE flags as you may be compiling a whole bunch of other stuff too. As long as it works I figure its not a big problem. _________________ Do you lock your car when you leave it out in public? Why not do the same with your computer? |

Well, I didn't change any USE flags, since the install docs said the defaults were "fine"...
As far as dependencies ... no idea. Perhaps it's compiling XFree86 and XFree-DRM along with the drivers? |
