UPDATE:
I have tried to install the dependencies for enlightenment one by one, and each on fails on trying to create directories in /usr/share...
I am having some difficulty emerging enlightenment, which by the way, has been my only problem so far.
I am installing on a Dell Latitude C840 if anyone is interested...
Anyhow, this is the error message I am receiving:
ACCESS DENIED open_wr: /usr/share/aclocal/imlib.m4
/bin/install: cannot create regular file: `/usr/share/aclocal/imlib.m4': permission denied
however, there are no permissions problems on this directory that I can see... furthermore, I set permissions to 777 for the heck of it,, and got the same problem... |

I encountered the same problem when I was trying to emerge galeon.
When I was trying to emerge gdk-pixbuf, I was always getting an error
saying: mkdir /usr/share/gnome/html/gtk-pixbuf: permission denied, even
when I'm the root.
I have no idea what's the problem. Very strange. Any idea why?
