What's everyone's favorite file browser

I'm looking for one that's small and not built on tons of dependencies

Preferebly two window panes, one with a tree and one with content, that's what I'm used to in Windows.

I'm using konqueror but since you seem to look for something lighter, I suggest krusader (it reminds remotely norton commender, but it's graphical)
rox-filer is also a very nice one and fully customizable.

I use konqueror as I can split it in as many panels as I want. If you want small and fast (not dependenat on kde), take a look at Gentoo (yes, it's an app as well not just a distro ;)).

There's an ebuild for it, so you can simply do:
Code:
emerge gentoo

I emerged xfsamba the other day , If your after a light file browser it's damn good , has a local browser as well as a global one , I found you can do just as much in it as in kde or nautilus without the overheads....although not as preddy..... :)

Cheers
Dale.
