Ok, this is my first Gentoo install (and I'm myself a relative linux newbie, since mandrake and rh install easily) and everything goes pretty well till the point I have to bootstrap.
I change the flags in /etc/make.conf to match my processor (i use those for the P6 that are put there as an example) and put my proxy server
Then I start the bootstrap script. But it stalls when it tries to connect to www.ibiblio..... so I knew he didn't accept my proxy.
I ctrl-c'ed out and checked my make.conf, and it was back to default. All my changes had disappeared.
How do I solve this? Does this have anything to do with the CONFIG_PROTECT thing (I just read something about that on this forum)
Thanks anyway |
