Drop as many cubes as you can on one side, 4 at least. and 1 of them on top so you can walk up and push yourself in.
Please ask these kind of questions in another thread with a link to this, so we don't clutter it too much with non-ebuild stuff. |

it's a great FRP (solo and multiplayer!) ...the ebuild already exists on their homepage ...but it's not in portage
i know how to do it by myself, but still it'd be nicer to have it in portage, then copying the ebuild everytime it gets an update ...plus you'd have to check the ir page regulary to find out when there's a new version :] _________________ tea+free software+law=hook

You might email the authors and ask why they didn't submit it to portage. I imagine because it isn't stable enough. They own the copyright on the ebuild on their homepage, so we can't just submit it to bugs.gentoo.org ourselves. |

Is there something like a Elasto Mania clone? I'd really love to see that _________________ Jabber: olli@amessage.nl |

NiL was mentioned earlier in this post, and the couple of us who tried couldn't get it to compile. It hasn't been updated in 3 years and the author doesn't answer messages on the SF fourms. I can't remember if it was because it relied on an incompatible version of SDL or didn't work with gcc higher than 2.95, but if you can get it to compile, let us know and an ebuild will follow. |

i visited nil.sf.net also. yup, it seems pretty dead ...how about gentoo users taking over the project? - that's probably too much to ask, is it? _________________ tea+free software+law=hook

looks nice :]
btw, is there a reason why this thread and the "new games" thread are separated? ...i mean, most (all) of the games mentioned there are good enough or wanted enough to have ebuilds and people also ask for them _________________ tea+free software+law=hook

About NiL... You can get a working (at least for me) NiL ebuild from my site. It is a fixed up version of a previous NiL ebuild I saw but couldn't get to compile.

It sounds like the moderator who made the New Games thread wanted it to be very low noise, just new game announcements. If you see any over there though that need an ebuild, feel free to mention it here. As the first post says here though, this thread is mainly for free games. |

Good job, I didn't think of trying the CVS source.
Here's my ebuild, based on yours, that was based on someone else's. It'll download the CVS source and do everything but create a .nilrc file, so just follow the post install instructions on how to copy nilrc to your home directory.
app-games/nil-cvs
Code: |
cd /usr/local/portage
wget http://abeni.sf.net/ebuilds/nil.tar.gz
tar zxf nil.tar.gz
emerge nil-cvs
rm nil.tar.gz
|
Note: You must have PORTDIR_OVERLAY set to /usr/local/portage in your /etc/make.conf for the above to work. |

The trophy ebuild 1.1.3 that was created does not work with the new clanlib (0.7.2) but with 0.6.5.
I will post a bug-report _________________ Former Official Danish Gentoo Translation Team |

NiL is now at 1.1 in CVS. I am trying the ebuild anyway to see of that works.
I couldn't get the CVS earlier but I figured a way around. I added " co nil" to the end of the ECVS_SERVER=. That got things rolling!
Code: | ECVS_SERVER="cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/nil co nil"

Great work guys, Pythonhead do you update your ebuild to reflect this?
A working Freespace 2 ebuild would be greatly appreciated but it seems hard without getting OpenAL to work properly. Is it just me or is Gentoo lagging behind this bleeding edge attitude it had before?
It would be great if this thread could be made sticky so people doesn't have to look. (Updated the first page again) |

The ebuild's version on the NiL CVS doesn't reflect what's download from CVS. And that 'co nil' shouldn't be necessary. Source Forge takes a few tries though lately before it downloads because of problems with their CVS servers. |
