Hello all.
I am a complete newbie...
hoping to install gentoo on my home machine.
Unfortunately, the machine has no internet access.... anyhow
I read the faq about running
emerge --pretend
and downloading the sources into /usr/portage/distfiles/
and that sounds perfect -- but I was wondering if there is an easy way to get the sources or if I have to chase each one down separately.
could I, for instance, somehow find a download of
gnome with xfree and all standard dependencies...?

this link contains all(?) the sources of the portage packages. You can download what you need, burn it on a cd and go ahead install _________________ Adopt an unanswered post today! |

thanks!
that definitely puts me on track.
I guess i was sort of hoping for some way to download collections of things all at once like...
all of the gnome sources I would need a the touch of a button. but i also find myself hoping that the computer will read my mind and other such things...
