Hi guys,
I do REALLY hope that you can help me get things here straight:
I did somehow managed it to break emerge again (reinstalled some days ago. so please don't suggest me to reinstall my system ...)
When I was thinking of using rp-pppoe someday I wanted to emerge it now:
Code: | phobos root # emerge rp-pppoe
Calculating dependencies ...done!
>>> emerge (1 of 1) net-dialup/rp-pppoe-3.5 to / |
Here I hit CTRL-C because I thought emerge -u rp-pppoe would be better. Maybe I had it installed already ...
Code: | phobos root # emerge -u rp-pppoe
Calculating dependencies ...done!
>>> Auto-cleaning packages ...
>>> No outdated packages were found on your system.
* GNU info directory index is up-to-date.
Error in sys.exitfunc:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/lib/python2.2/atexit.py", line 20, in _run_exitfuncs
apply(func, targs, kargs)
File "/usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages/portage.py", line 5109, in portageexit
portdb.saveauxcache()
File "/usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages/portage.py", line 3405, in saveauxcache
self.auxpickle[self.root] = self.auxcache
TypeError: object does not support item assignment |
What did break here and why? How do I fix this? Emerge is completely broken now. Even emerge sync wouldn't run: |

I guess I have solved it now:
some reading in /usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages/portage.py have the idea to delete /var/cache/* (well I backuped it before ...)
... AND IT WORKED :) emerge runs clean now. |
