|
|
After the upgrade to audacious 1.4.5 I cannot play aac+ streams from www.di.fm anymore. Audacious kind of hangs with lots of the following messages when started from a console:
Code: |
ERROR: neon: neon.c:881 (neon_aud_vfs_fread_impl): Buffer underrun, trying rebuffering
|
I can see network traffic so it is reading the stream ok, but it cannot play - the time counter doesn't move and no sound.
I have:
Code: |
[ebuild R ] media-sound/audacious-1.4.5 USE="nls -chardet -dbus -libsamplerate"
[ebuild R ] media-plugins/audacious-plugins-1.4.4 USE="aac alsa flac gnome mp3 nls sse2 -adplug -arts -chardet -dbus -esd -jack -lirc -modplug -mtp -musepack -oss -pulseaudio -sdl -sid -sndfile -timidity -tta -vorbis -wavpack -wma"
|
MP3 streams play fine. |

Now it's crashing after playing MP3 streams for >1 hour. I'm going back the 1.3.2 - it was much more stable. |

Edit: Looks like a bug report has been filed with the audacious folks here; http://bugzilla.atheme.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123 |

Thanks for the tip about VLC!
I've been using audacious for some ???? time and I like it. I hope this problem will be fixed by the devs so that none of us are forced to switch to another media player unless we choose to do so. |

I've got audacious 1.4.x on two machines. Audacious 1.4.5 is happily running on the x86 -- very stable. But on my amd64 machine, I tried 1.4.5 and 1.4.6 but both give me the same problem as you describe. According to the log messages, it appears that the problem may actually be in package net-misc/neon.
Looks like this bug only affects 64-bit. |

Hi,
I had the same problems as you. In my case installing media-plugins/gst-plugins-neon (with all its dependencies), and a reboot (??) solved it.
Well, I did many things, this bug kept me busy for one day, so I cannot be sure. I believe the above mentioned package was the key. _________________ format c:
