I have a local html file that contains a table of my most used links and a Google Search box at the top. Quicker than using bookmarks, but I'm not very good at keeping it up to date!

http://linux.com is the default page. However, most of the time, the first thing Mozilla Firebird goes to when I log in is my web mail inbox.

I have all my frequently visited links on the toolbar.

Slightly off topic, I have a bugs.gentoo.org bookmark classified under 'Forums'... Do you find this behaviour... disturbing/twisted/a sign of insanity?

Same here, but I also have a program that updates this page every day to remind me about upcoming birthdays and such things.

http://www.mozilla.org/start/

I use bookmarks very rarely and haven't bothered to add any links to the toolbar... I do use the default ones that are there, though. I'm one of those people who, when tweaking a computer, tend to spend more time removing than adding stuff from their environments...

I wrote a php script that sits on my webserver that acts as a links database. Its nice, all the links are nested under the category. Very fun to write, and xhtml (1.0 transitional) compliant).

I wrote it myself a year ago. However, I decided to clean the code up a little, but I never finished so the code is broken. And this was before I switched to linux, so the binary I have is compiled for windows. If you're curious though, you can look at the code here: http://www.shell.linux.se/arvid/calendar.cpp, but keep in mind that it's messy, broken and commented in swedish. It might be easier to write a new one from scratch.

Wow, I thought I was the only person who actually cared about that stuff!

Oh, and right now, it's about:blank, though I like the idea of a local php page. I hate having to wait for a remote page to load all the images in a homepage because I'll just end up hitting stop anyways.

The server is on the same segment as me, so its not a real big issue waiting for the two images (174b, 184b) to load. :)

Yeah, that's what I mean. Having a local/semi-local page is drastically better than a remote one. If the homepage is served from your LAN, then images are more or less instantaneous. That I don't mind.

It gets annoying when they load from a site such as www.yahoo.com which is not only full of content and images, but is also non-local.
