|
|
I created a section in my website, for (gentoo mostly) man pages.
I did so because I couldn't find a site like http://man.cx with gentoo man pages, and didn't like much the manuals feature from gentoo-wiki.com.
The url is http://Gentoo.zapto.org/man/
But this page is not very sexy nor useful as-is ; the way I planned to use it is links to pages like
- http://Gentoo.zapto.org/man/revdep-rebuild
- http://Gentoo.zapto.org/man/5+ebuild or http://Gentoo.zapto.org/man/ebuild(5) (the latter doesn't work in this forum, but is more clear..)
This is mostly useful in wikis with interwiki links.
For example, dokuwiki configuration consists in adding a line in interwiki.conf with :
Code: | rtfm.gentoo http://Gentoo.zapto.org/man/ |
It is used by inputting [[rtfm.gentoo>ebuild(5)]] tags in pages.
Might be the same for other wikis.

Yeah but locally, you can also use man directly
The point is to provide online links, that work 100% of the time, and that ubuntu or even windows users can read. |
