Is it possible to tell emerge to install something without checking its dependencies? It should be possible to have kdelibs-3.0.2 with kdenetwork-3.0.1, however it seems to be unable to work out the dependencies (I already have kdelibs-3.0.2 installed):
Code: |
root@hiro$ emerge -p /usr/portage/kde-base/kdenetwork/kdenetwork-3.0.1.20020604.ebuild
These are the packages that I would merge, in order.
Calculating dependencies \

Any suggestions? |

emerge --nodeps
Not sure why you want to do above, since kdenetwork-3.0.2 is in portage, but I'm sure there are good reasons |

Thanks.
The reason is because of a bug I am having with KMail and IMAP. If I can't figure out how to fix it cleanly then I will just go back the older KMail, which was working fine for me on my last system. |
