Code:
[code][/code][code]Hi, I want to install q[/code]mail w
ith auth patch on Gentoo...
I've made a auth enabled qmail install (by making by hand from ebuild).
It seems that qmail has got auth commands:

Code:

testing etc # telnet localhost 25
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to localhost.
Escape character is '^]'.
220 testing.somehost.krakow.pl ESMTP
ehlo
250-testing.somehost.krakow.pl
250-AUTH LOGIN CRAM-MD5 PLAIN
250-AUTH=LOGIN CRAM-MD5 PLAIN
250-PIPELINING
250 8BITMIME

But if i send mail without auth it's not blocking it :(
When i enable auth in client then error occurs (i want to you same passwords from /etc/shadow
Anyone can help :D ?

My guess is that localhost is specifically allowed from /etc/tcp.smtp which was set by the ebuild script you probably ran after install.

I wouldn't suggest removing localhost from tcp.smtp as all mail relaying might break. I'd try testing off a second IP that is not in tcp.smtp to test your auth config.

You might want to use the qmail-1.03-r10 ebuild which is masked, but has several more patches including the smtp-auth stuff by default.
