Hello friends
I seem to be having a problem when switching from X (F7) to any of the terminals (F1.....F6) and back to X
The WHOLE machine hangs ( ) !! I have to cold boot the machine.
I have NVIDIA (glx, kernel) compiled and have a MX2 64MB card running at 1280 x 1024 resolution and am using GDM as the login manager. Running on Athlon XP 1700+.
I would like your opinion as to what could be wrong.
Thanks |

Do you have FB enabled?
I used to have the same problem, but my system didn't freeze (it responded to ping.) I've disabled FB and everything is running fine since then.

Just to add to what nbensa said, the riva framebuffer caused problem with me in conjunction with the nv X drivers. The VESA framebuffer works fine. |

Not to hijack the thread, but I have troubles logging out of x to console (the screen goes blank, machine still network responsive; geforce4ti).
How do I disable the framebuffer for my card? Thought I'd ask b/c maybe it's my problem too.
Thanks |
