Eu quero saber quais os plugins instalar para que o mozilla funcione normalmente enquanto navego??
tenho duvidas

eu tenho o de flash, tenho java instalado e a funcionar no browser e ainda o acrobat reader para pdf's e o mplayerplug-in para ver streams....

não chega a ser bem uma resposta, mas eu costumo instalar sempre o netscape-flash ... Talvez seria legal você começar por ele

Valeu! flash e .pdf estão funcionando! 
Outra pergunta... como eu faço para definir meu Mozilla Browser como default (padrão)... pois sempre que eu clico em um link no meu kmail ou gaim... ao invé de aparecer o mozilla ... aparece o Konqueror...

Isso depende, tens de procurar nas opções de cada programa.
