Can you report it, and post us a link ? :)

I'll have a look, thank you. :)

Note for you SVN users:
kdm currently doesn't compile with USE="-debug".
( See http://lists.kde.org/?l=kde-core-devel&m=119827460804517&w=2 )
Adding USE="debug" for kdelibs, kdepimlibs, kdebase will work.

Someone in the irc channel reported this too. It's nearly fixed. I'll push it to SVN asap. Thanks for your patience :)

Thanks! Just updated and everything works, I can sign on to google talk now.

I couldn't get qt-4.4rc1 to compile. I think it is posted in this forum somewhere.

CooSee, did you enable debug USE-flag for kdebase (and kdepimlibs as well as kdelibs) as Ingmarv posted five posts above?

For me kdesdk-svn also failed without USE="debug" but just compiled fine with USE="debug"

EDIT: This applies for kdevplatform and probably for kdepim (just compiling, will keep you posted)

kdepim just compiled fine, too.
So these are the packages that need debug useflag (on amd64 at least):

kde-base/kdevplatform subversion debug
kde-base/kdelibs jpeg2k spell debug
kde-base/kdebase <stripped_others> debug
kde-base/kdepimlibs debug
kde-base/kdepim debug
kde-base/kdesdk subversion debug

As OnlyOne proposed on Dec 18 a short list of differences (or non-differences) to my last merge that catched my eye:

- plasma still crashes for me on logout. No changes in plasmoids (removed, moved, added) are saved on relogin
- kate crashes on exit after plug-ins where activated
- pressing enter in konqueror address-bar now seems to work _each_ time
- konqueror has spell-checking
- firefox launches instead of kwrite when selecting in kickoff (see discussion a few posts above)
- the panel now shows a tooltip on mouseover (below the window-preview, if enabled)
- probably a lot more

all in all kde seems to be even smoother than on my last builds

Hi,

Is anyone that is following this thread using or working on monolithic ebuilds for kde4? The title of this thread is "KDE4 Overlay - monolithic ebuilds" but there are none for rc2?

Do you know why portage want to emerge gnome-panel and evolution-data-server in emerging kde4 ???

I had that "glXChooseVisual" problem with krunner, I fixed it with opengl flag for that package.

Probably not, no one really got around to doing them, and doing those ebuilds over a week after the release isn't really worth the effort, when there are split ebuilds available.

Sync your checkout. Or do a new one, because those problems seem strange to me.
The ebuild that's supposedly missing is present, and those eclasses should be in /usr/portage/local/kde/eclass.

I had that "glXChooseVisual" problem with krunner, I fixed it with opengl flag for that package.

With opengl flag set, kdebase compiled fine - Many Thanks

System now fails with kdepim as per earlier post.

I have found the solution : my /usr/portage/local/eclass was wrong :)
Now, everything works:)
