Hello,

Apologies if this has already been covered elsewhere. I did check, but can't see any thread which helps me out with this problem.

When I run "emerge xorg-x11", I get this at the bottom :

I am brand new to Gentoo, having looked at it on the recommendation of a colleague. So far, I am very impressed. But my inability to get X up and running is putting a spanner in the works.

Thanks for any hekp.

emerge --oneshot sys-libs/libstdc++-v3

that should fix ya up, just restart your emerge afterwards and it "should" stop trying to install gcc 3.
