Thanks
there's one more I've already made, and you can see another one (although kde related, not gentoo) at kde-look.
I'm planning another one, and have an idea, but I need some spare time to implement it, I wish there were more hours in a day _________________ There's someone in my head but it's not me - Pink Floyd |

Now my walpapers are mirrored at Gentoo's graphics section (and on the faster servers), so you can previews and download it it from there:

Do you want the entire scene or just the 'G' curve _________________ There's someone in my head but it's not me - Pink Floyd |

OK, here's the complete scene including graphics, but I don't how much this is gonna help learning Blender. One of the most important things with Blender (and 3d tools in general) is the modeling tools which you can't learn from a ready made scene.
You might want to adjust the paths of the texture images (blender uses absolute paths for image files, at least in this scene).
I also suggest searching for few tutorials on the net, they can be very helpful. _________________ There's someone in my head but it's not me - Pink Floyd |

Thanks for uploading the Blender files - I used the Blender files to render out a blue logo for my site; others might be able to use it too even if it doesn't have that shiny metallic look that you see usually:
(Oh and also the GIMP).
It's not the greatest banner in the world but I haven't seen many larger banners around.
http://quag7.dynip.com:8063/gentoobanner-2.png
342x49 pixels. If anyone at all is interested in using it, do so freely -- modify it, change colors, use it in a bizarre plot to overthrow third world dictatorships and form an anarcho-syndicalist society with it, end war with it, make Mick Jagger cry with it, whatever.
It has a black background; for various reasons I didn't make it transparent. I will probably be doing others shortly once I get Blender figured out a little bit better. _________________ http://www.dataswamp.net |

Looks like that link is broke (404)... I did some hunting around, looks like the correct link should be: http://quag7.dynip.com:8063/gentoo-banner2.png |

If we're going to organize the artwork, let's do it like this. All the original gentoo backgrounds and desktop styles can stay here. All the banners and ads for gentoo should go to New Gentoo banners and graphics for websites. Thanks! _________________ if i never try anything, i never learn anything..
