|
|
Okay, I finally got gentoo working, but now when I go to emerge xfree, it tells me the following:
Code: | make [3]: ***[dpsclrops.c Segmentation fault]
make [3]: *** Deleting file 'dpsclrops.c'
make [2]:*** [includes] Error 2
make [1]:*** [includes] Error 2
make: *** [World] Error 2
!!! ERROR: x11-base/xfree-4.3.0-r2 failed.
!!! Function src_compile, Line 480, Exit code 2
!!! (no error message) |
This is leaving me very bewildered, and the fact that I don't have an xfree is frightening, because I am afraid of command prompt .
Thanks for any response...

Well first wuncause the latest version of xfree is the r3.
There are several reasons why that Segmentation fault may occour. Usually hardware probs, overclocking OR gcc probs and wrong USE flags.
Can you post the lines befour and your USE var?

Well, this is actually happening whenever I try to emerge anything.... I'll come back in five minutes and that error will be there... I'm lost. |

Emerge sync didn't change the results of my emerge of xfree, I'm afraid. I'm not overclocked at all, eather . |
