My thinkpad T30 (2644-92U) has just started suspending itself at odd times. If I leave it unattended for a while, I come back to find it's suspended and I have to FN-F4. I wouldn't mind so much, but it causes my NIC to turn off and then I have to fiddle around to bring it back.
This happens when I'm docked or undocked BTW.
The weird part is, I hadn't recompiled my kernel recently. Last night, I did recompile, turning APM totally off. I also checked my BIOS settings to make sure I had power management turned off.
What could be causing this? Could some running process be telling the machine to suspend? _________________ It's spelled Raymond Luxury-Yacht, but it's pronounced Throat-Warbler Mangrove. |

do u also have windows installed in the laptop?
becoz my sony is dual boot, and when i boot to windows and mess with the power management (acpi , screen brightness, cpu speed), then reboot to gentoo, the power scheme that i set in windows will get carry over and continue the power management under linux.
and since acpi isnt really working in gentoo, i would have to boot to windows to have it set to the way i want it to be and boot back to gentoo.
hope it helps _________________ I do what I want, and that's what I do.
