Hi, I have incredible difficulty getting the latest NVidia Drivers to work. When I start X my computer completely locks, the keyboard dies, and I can't even SSH into the computer. These are the specs for the system
K7S5A Motherboard/SIS 4x AGP
NVidia Geforce TI 300
Athlon XP 2000
512MB DDR
I can get the old 2xxx drivers working when used with an older kernel on a system using GCC2.x, but the drivers will refuse to work with Gentoo, or any other distro that is using newer kernels and compilers.
I am not having any trouble getting the drivers to work on an older system with a Pentium II and a Geforce 256
I have searched NVidia's Website, tried a patch for XFree86, all with no luck. I have recenctly subscribed to WineX, but I am unable to play any 3D Games.
Has anyone had any similar problems, and managed to overcome it, any help will be greatly appreciated
Thanks
