thanks in advance :)
It slows down .23 kernels too much, as waninkoko told me. I think i'm gonna try it myself to see what happens ;)

Waiting for your results ;)

Works quite neat on my notebook, and powertop reports about 100 wakeups/sec in idle, that's down 100 compared to 2.6.22-kamikaze-sources (which is why I didn't use it before). :)

Interesting, I still have much usb wakeups. Although I'm not using any usb device. (except internal fingerprint device)

I think I have activated the relevant options, what would you recommend, or did I miss anything?

I hope suspend2 patch will be included in official 2.6.23-kamikaze1 just as all 2.6.22 based kamikaze releases. I am asking this because I do not see this patch in 2.6.23-rc9-kamikaze0.

Any chances to see built-in aufs support in next release?

Other than that it's great! Runs smooth n sweet here on an Asus P5B-VM + 2x250 JMicron RAID.

I reallzy don't know why, but there is a problem: in nine of ten trials i've got the root-partition error (see before), but some time it works. It must be kernel related, because kamikaze9 works flawless. And it's not a configuration issue, because some time it boot up flawless.
Anybody else with intel-core duo configuartion and sata?

BTW: When it works, it works great: powertop gave me just 14-20 wakeups! that means just 10 watt while screen is bright! suspend to ram works well too.

best regards

time for newbie question: Id like to try tuxonice, and since Ive never used susp2..well, under power management I just dont see that option\menu. am I missing something? are there any mandatory dependencies? after enabling swap space now I have suspend entry, but not suspend2.
edit: just to share it: during idle time I have hundreds of wakeups per second :( I suppose it depends on fgrlx, if I shutdown X they downcrease to 40-50 per second (thanks to ipw3945..)

then something must be wrong: keep a plain X (i use xfce), turn off wlan, kill all monitors (cpu, system load, wlan as they wake up the cpu often). don't touch anything for some seconds. powertop should show less then 100 wakeups then. with the new kernel i get just 20 wakeups, mainly from acpid.

unfortunately the new kernel won't boot reliabel, so I can"t give the exakt numbers.

best regards

Forgot to say - I wrote the 432 hz patch. If you use it, it is for dual-core only. The 864 is for singles. That's why I did it the way that I did. Sorry...if Waninkoko hasn't fixed it yet, I guess I can at some point in the near future.

TuxOnIce / Suspend2 does not resume here. It looks like it just ignores the image. I set the path to my resume device in the kernel config as I did in previous versions. Any idea?

try this http://www.mail-archive.com/mm-commits@vger.kernel.org/msg23156.html, it might help

The above link no longer works me for - could anyone advise how to fix the sata_nv error? Thanks

Hmm maybe its the patchsets fault, or anyone can use tuxOnIce successfully?

http://www.mail-archive.com/mm-commits@vger.kernel.org/msg23156.html Without the comma, the link works ;)

even if the patch doesnt apply here, you can do it by yourself, its only a small change.

Kamikaze0 works great here, thank you Waninkoko.

The problem in my case was that I booted from an initrd created with genkernel. If anyone else needs this, here are the changes to /usr/share/genkernel/generic/initrd.scripts: http://pastebin.ca/731706 (You just have to change the paths)

Great kernel so far and I like the colored output :D

You are using the newest mactel patches from the svn right? because the touchpad movement is really jittery, and I've seen that this is an old problem. Might just be that it isn't fixed either though.

Edit: I also have another request too, I'm currently using ubuntu on my macbook pro (don't want to compile that much on it). Would it be possible if you released two patch-sets? one like you do now, and one for other distro's without the gentoo specific patches? Dunno what they do really.

The Gentoo specific patches aren't really specific to the distro. They are fine to use on other distros.

ok, thats nice.

I do however see one strange thing. The linux-phc patch is 2.6.22-pre1, but there is a patch that is non-pre in the linux-phc 0.3.0 official package, why isn't that used?

And lastly, does anyone other than me have the problem where the mouse stops responding everytime i click a key on the keyboard? it only happens with the external mouse though, not with my touchpad.

What exactly do the Genpatches contain? I never used them personally, because I thought I ran slower with them. What exactly do they fix? I haven't found that info, even on the official site.

Also, it looks like he's done with kamikaze1: http://kamikaze.waninkoko.info/patches/2.6.23/kamikaze1/
