Hi,
was anyone succesfull in installing FreeTennis or using the binaries?
I get an error that 'libpangocairo-1.0.so.0' is missing. Where do I find it? Pango 1.8.1 is installed.

It's in x11-libs/pango-1.10.1, according to "equery belongs libpangocairo-1.0.so.0".

Here is a working ebuild for Free Tennis: /usr/local/portage/games-sports/freetennis/freetennis-0.4.8.ebuild
To play: freetennis -xres 1000 -yres 680 -newbie -surf grass

Edit: Moved ebuild to bugzilla.

Edit: Added support for cvs. Bumped to version 0.4.8. Added modular X dependencies. Mentioned on the front page - priceless 8)

With x11-libs/pango-1.10.1 I can play the binary! Thanks.
I ran into the same problem with camlimages with your ebuild here.

i did a bit of research on the gentoo bugs site ....

to fix the ocamlimages you need to use a newer version
that's masked .. : | ( 2.20 )

i tried .. but the compile of freetennis still fails..
im still missing something :)

back to work.

Post the ebuild in Bugzilla, or else it will probably not get the noticed.

Bumped to version 0.4.6, and added cvs option via USE flag. I'll add the ebuild to bugzilla, once the game has a decent-sounding version number :)

It's not a bug, it's a feature -- looks like there are no windows binaries (".exe") available.

I have successfully installed Free Tennis on my dualcore CPU with 64-bit gentoo, but when I start the game one of the cores is running on 100% and the game is unplayable since the graphics is very choppy and the reaction to mouse is horribly delayed. Is the graphics in the game so demanding that I cannot play it with only onboard graphic chip? Thanks.

I have been following the 3rd party ebuild howto to the letter but when I try to emerge freetennis, I get this:

Code:

!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "freetennis" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- games-sports/freetennis-0.4.8 (masked by: corruption)

I have tried downloading the ebuild with wget and copy-pasting the contents. As far as I can tell the contents are identical to the version on bugzilla. What might I be doing wrong?

Looks like You have wrong digest/manifest. Try "ebuild /path/to/games-sports/freetennis/freetennis-0.4.8.ebuild manifest" and then run emerge again.
