|
|
After doing a "emerge -u system" when I tried restarting my computer my ethernetcard was not detected and I have no internet. This is what I get during boot:
-----
Bringing eth0 up... [ok]
setting default gateway...
SIOCADDRT: File exists
Failed to bring eth0 up [!!]
Bringing eth0 down [ok]
Error: Problem starting needed services "netmount" was not started.
-----
What should I do to get it working again? Many thanks in advance. _________________ I saw this tag first! |

What stage did you start with ?
look like your tarball file is broke or not fully unpacked. _________________ Encrypt, lock up everything and duct tape the rest |

I started from stage 1. How do I know if my tarball was fully unpacked or not. I got some message after doing "emerge -u system" that I should change my setup files in /var but I didn't find the help too usefull so I didn't do anything... probably stupid. but I didn't know what to do...
In the beginning emerge -u system didn't work, it crashed for some reason during compilation but then I just started it again and I think that helped(or not?) Are there some log files I could take a look at or something?
Thanks alot in advance for any help. _________________ I saw this tag first! |
