|
|
Hi, today I emerged portage-2.0.48-r6 and It seems always generate a file named "1" in the cwd when I emerge a package.
I have never noticed that before so I think it could be something related to the new version.
An other problem that I have since few weeks is that during emerge a package I get the error:
(example: emerge -v pciutils, but it's the same with all packages)
>>> Done.
>>> extracting info
>>> extracting pciutils-2.1.10-r1
cat: write error: Broken pipe
>>> Merging sys-app/pciutils-2.1.10-r1 to /
Wrapping /bin/cat I found that the command is:
cat /usr/portage/packages/All/pciutils-2.1.10-r1.tbz2
It seems not bad. I cant figure out why I get that error.
Anyway the error not to damage the installation that seems good to me.
Are the two problem related? Any idea how to fix them?
Thanks a lot.

I get files called "0" and "1" in the cwd, and like you I've never noticed it before. _________________ Per Ardua Ad Astra

hm, right. it creates those files.
i removed them, reemerged a package and they didn't appear again.
Could someone verify this, by using PORTAGE_DEBUG="1" at the first emerge with the new portage? _________________ Markus Nigbur |

I emerged something with "PORTAGE_DEBUG=0" and it doesn't seem to be creating the files anymore, even if I set "PORTAGE_DEBUG=1". _________________ Per Ardua Ad Astra

There were a few typos in ebuild.sh that created these files, should be fixed in -r7. |

Definitely. I'd been emerging quite a lot of stuff since I just reinstalled a couple of days ago, and it kept coming back. I just emerged gdb a minute ago and they appeared again

cat: write error: Broken pipe
I've noticed it since I emerged portage r5 (then emerging r6 I got the other problem about the file named "1"). I went back to the old r1 and all problem disappeared. I forgot to say that I use the feature to always buildpackage, and anyway I get that error almost always and not with only some few packages.
