not much more to say other than the subject .... an emerge kde dies at the end of kdebase (first package) crying about a sandbox violation as emerge is trying to do stuff in /root/.kde
my portage is up to date, and im using ~sparc
read up in the desktops forum and found no mention of this, so I can only guess its gentoo-sparc local
... confirmations? questions? suicide booths? solutions?

| does the directory /root/.kde exist? I seem to recall seeing warning messages about it not existing a while back. |

yeah, after it whined the first time i went in and made all the stupid directories it was trying to create manually...
ive since added userpriv to features and am trying again, we'll see if the problem goes away :-/
