I can't seem to get DMA working no matter why. To cut long story short, here are my settings:
Code: |
# hdparm -d 1 /dev/hda
/dev/hda:
setting using_dma to 1 (on)
HDIO_SET_DMA failed: Operation not permitted
using_dma = 0 (off)
# hdparm -i /dev/hda
/dev/hda:

I used to use BLK_DEV_PIIX when using the old IDE drivers for my ICH IDE controllers (ICH5, ICH8), but this doesn't work very well with SATA disks (doesn't run in native mode) so I use libata now... _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K/Radeon R7 250/24GB DDR3/256GB SSD

OK thanks everyone. I didn't want to switch to libata but in the end there's no other choice. So I did it, and it works. |
