With konqueror there is no problem, works like a charm, just ensure you have USE_KIO selected in the configuration box on the JAVA section... with firefox, no hope if running in 64bit mode... only way is to use firefox-bin, and the emul-java package.

I can't test the applet you were trying, as the url you posted is invalid... What happens if you try...

http://www.itsnottingham.info

...this site has a simple scrolling text box applet at the top of the screen?

Konqueror + sun-jre-bin = doesn't work
Konqueror + emul-linux-x86-java = work

Hmmmmmmmmmmm

I testet www.playraycom, garnelenzucht.de and your site!

That seems odd that konqueror would use a 32bit plugin... you done anything like install the nsplugin32 for konqueror that I seem to remember used to be around on the forums somewhere?

I don't have nsplugin32 installed, but do have the other two, and java is working very well here. Try running without nsplugin32?

Well, and what about the Gentoo Java Guide ??
In the Java Browser Plugins you can read :
Quote:
If you are running a mixed 64-bit and 32-bit multilib system (for example, on AMD64), you can only use 32-bit Java plugins.
but also
Quote:
Although you must select a 32-bit browser (such as mozilla-firefox-bin) to use with your 32-bit plugin, the 64-bit version of konqueror uses your Java VM directly, so it's possible to use the 64-bit version of blackdown with this browser; no further configuration is necessary.

Enjoy !

PS : but does that mean they're only 32bits sun-jre ?
