Ok, Someone break this down for me as I am not a legal expert. I'm just a simple tech who is trying to get this.

Which is freer? GPL or BSD?

Some folk are saying BSD, which seems to be not just free but except for having to put somewhere where no one will care a little thing like a painting sig with the original authors name on it you don't even have to give anything back to anyone. Would it be right to declare this rape and pillage ware?

GPL, forces programers who take code that was free to give it back to whomeever they distribute it to in the same fashion they got it. Doesn't allow them to lock it up and stifle anything.

Someone break this down for me and make your case.
