I have installed all from the minimal CD and finished the install with Grub, then I want to boot and at the point of Checking root filesystem an error uprises: ext2fs_check_if_mount: No such file or directory while determining whether /dev/ROOT is mounted.
fsck.ext3: No such file or directory while trying to open /dev/ROOT
/dev/ROOT:
The superblock could not be read or does not describe a correct ext2 filesystem. If the device is valid and it really contains an ext2 filesystem (and not swap or ufs or something else), then the superblock is corrupt, and you might try running e2fsck with an alternate superblock:
e2fsck -b 8193 <device>
Filesystem couldn't be fixed :( [!!]

could you please help me.

my gentoo is installed on a inspirion 9400 laptop and the install filesystem is ext3

You probably forgot to edit /etc/fstab, as "/dev/ROOT" is just the default example entry which needs to be changed or commented out.

Did you follow the handbook?

There is no such device such as /dev/ROOT, you will have to correct that in your /etc/fstab file. Go back and have another look at chapter eight in the handbook, the beginning of that chapter takes care of the fstab file.

Just boot the livecd and mount your Gentoo partition and correct the file :)
