|
|
Hello.
emerge xterm fails at install phase:
| Code: |
+ src_install
+ emake -j1 DESTDIR=/tmp/portage/x11-terms/xterm-229/image/ install
mkdir /tmp/portage/x11-terms/xterm-229/image/usr
mkdir /tmp/portage/x11-terms/xterm-229/image/usr/bin
... installing /tmp/portage/x11-terms/xterm-229/image//usr/bin/uxterm
mkdir /tmp/portage/x11-terms/xterm-229/image/usr/share
mkdir /tmp/portage/x11-terms/xterm-229/image/usr/share/man
mkdir /tmp/portage/x11-terms/xterm-229/image/usr/share/man/man1
|
And it just hangs there forever. Last version that installs is 225. Any greater version gives the above problem.
| Code: |
[ebuild U ] x11-terms/xterm-229 [225] USE="truetype unicode -Xaw3d -paste64 -toolbar" 0 kB

This is just a completely random idea but try doing:
| Code: |
FEATURES="-usersandbox -userpriv" emerge xterm
|

Sorry, forgot to mention I've tried emerging with every FEATURE unset, still the same problem.
[edit]
The problem was my $MANPAGER variable set to vimpager, executing MANPAGER=less emerge xterm did the trick, still weird though... |

It's the same solution i've found. I also reported it in the relevant Bugzilla report. _________________ I was born in a deep forest/I wish I could live here all my life/I am made from stones and roots/My home, these woods and roads

I'm having the same problem, so to clarify, changing from vimpager to less in this case will only effect xterm? or all terminal emulators like aterm, eterm, etc.? _________________ My Linux Blog
