Hello everybody
First I installed Xorg-x11 (with the handbook). Then I installed kde-meta (with the handbook), but when I do the command

echo "exec startkde" > ~/.xinitrc
startx
|
Kde doesn't start.
When I try

xinit /usr/kde/3.5/bin/startkde
|
It says there is no such file or directory. But first I see the nvidia logo...

| you need to probably emerge nvidia drivers (forgot the name of the emerge, but it emerges ALL the drivers for specific class and card name. |

I just did this but it doesn't change anything. Maybe it's something in the kernel?? I used genkernel.

I found the reason why it didn't work.

FreeFontPath: FPE "/usr/share/fonts/misc/" refcount is 2, should be 1; fixing.

wasn't causing the problem, this was just a warning message.
The reason of my problem was that KDE wasn't finished with emerging. So to solve this (noob) problem, you only have to resume your KDE emerge... |
