Sorry. I have stil the same error. The only additional
information I have is that some people with the philipps
drive could use the cdrdao. I know that I used the drive to burn audio
cd´s with redhat 6.2 so it must be something related to "updates"
to syslibs or cdrecord or libscg

So I´m still interested in tips (in the moment i use a dual boot
to evil_win)

bye

I managed to copy an audio CD with cdrdao as follows:
Code:
cdrdao read-cd --device 0,5,0 gm.toc
cdrdao blank --device 0,6,0 --driver generic-mmc-raw
cdrdao write --device 0,6,0 --driver generic-mmc-raw gm.toc

By the way, there is also a firmware upgrade to version 2.03 at http://www.philips.com/pcstuff/. Select your country, press "Downloads", enter cdd3600. You get a compressed "flashtool 7.0.0.0". This requires ASPI and under Windows XP requires "Windows 98/Me compatibility mode".

The firmware upgrade does not fix the problem, so it seems that cdrdao is the way to go.

Hey,
is here a solution available? I have actually the same problem. I have a Philips CDD 5301.

The output from #cdrecord -scanbus is fine. Under windows 2000 the burner works fine (read CD & DVD, burn CD´s). I can mount the burner with a normal CD and read from device under linux. That´s ok.

Only when i try to burn a CD, the burner is blocked. I can´t open the tray or do a #eject /mnt/cdrom / umount /mnt/cdrom. I habe this tried with the devices-files too. The same.

When i do a #cdrecord -scanbus again cdrecord do not a output in the terminal. It hangs. I think the bus or the burner is not more present in the system. Why?

When i close the burnprogram the burner do furthermore blinking the LED on the front panel.

Only a reboot do unlock the tray and give the inside CD free. On the CD is nothing. I all case.

I need help! Thanks.

Greetings Pipe
