It is already more then a week since it out.

No ebuild yet?

gcc-4.2.0 seems too buggy.

Have you tried renaming the ebuild for 4.2.0?

A question. Do I need to do an

emerge -e system && emerge -e world
after upgrading gcc??

While I have not found it to be absolutely necessary, it is recommended in the "Gentoo GCC Upgrade Guide".

Moved from Portage & Programming to Duplicate Threads, as Dottout mentioned above this has already been discussed at some length in topic "Anyone tried gcc 4.2.0?", including an ebuild.
