Hello.
I am installing 1.4_rc4 and till now I have done everything like it says in the manual.
I have reached "emerge system" where sysvinit won't compile saying "undefined reference to crypt".
Please, if you had this problem and fixed it show me the way  |

| Well, I didn't but I managed to compile and install sysvinit by my own and deleted it from the baselayout ebuild but now it fails on the next package modutils. |

It seems more a USE/CHOST flag problem rather than any other thing. Can you post your flags, chost,... located in your /etc/make.conf ?? |

We can help you on this, please, open /etc/make.conf and paste it (don't paste commented lines) |
