hi,

i'm trying to find out why i have partitions being automounted even though they specifically have noauto in their options in /etc/fstab
i posted a previous thread here (click for details) but it was left unsolved.
only difference from that post is that i uncommented the lines.

i'll try to refine my questions:
can someone give me a list of the possible programs responsible for automounting?
i'll dig into this myself, but i don't even know where to start... this can help..

thanks,
Nir

I am assuming that those partitions are mounted only after you login using gdm into gnome. Are you sure that they are not mounter, after the machine boots up? If not can you look at /var/log/messages or some other log that gnome uses to see if there is any information.

oh yes, i forgot to mention it,
but according to /var/log/messages, they are mounted right after gdm reports the user login

update:
ok, removing the option "mount removable media when inserted" (in "Removable Drives and Media") did the trick
(although obviously now it doesn't mount my usb stick when i insert it...)
thanks Zepp!
