As I requested the dev hackfest, just a short description of what I imagine this to be like...
Last years meeting was a good opportunity to interact with users, but as far as meeting other devs and exchanging GPG keys went I felt uncatered for. I would like an opportunity for developers to meet and talk, and most importantly get some key signing done. If there is insufficient interest in the hackfest, perhaps we could at least have some keysigning instructions and reserve a 15 or 30 minute slot to do this? |

Fabulous. I'm just a normal user but it was great last year. Bit tight with GUADEC but who can have too much open source software? It will be handy for the people flying in as they could go to both. |

I'll be putting up a site later on today with directions, local hotels and as we will be in the heart of the technology shopping area - a guide to all the good shops I'm trying to organise a group discount with a few of the PC dealers, i'll let you know how I get on.
One thing we cannot do in this venue is consume food and drink, I will be finding out if we can use the student union bar on campus, there are many cafe's and public houses in the local area also.

Thank you to the organisers and all those who attended for a great meet! If anyone knows the network admins for UCL, please shoot them as neither the logins we'd been given nor my Janet Roaming access worked, but other than that very minor speck, an otherwise great weekend and I look forward to attending the next meet. =D |
