UT and extra levels/skins etc.......

I was wondering if adding levels/skins to the game installed within Gentoo is any different from doing it in windwos. I want to get the Unreal4Ever MOD but it uses the UMOD installer. Is the installer seperate from the files that are added or do the files exist within the UMOD file? Thanks. Im at work so I can't try it but any info would be appreciated.
