|
|
Hi,
Since yesterday i'm busy to install gentoo from stage1.
Everything went very well (thx to http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/build.xml)
But when i begun the Grub installation i sort of lost it, when i tryed to boot Gentoo all I got was:
Code: | GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB
GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB
GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB
etc. |
so I misconfigured something in my Grub --> menu.lst
my situation in hardware:
hda = Windows2000 (when i got gentoo fully installed and i know how to emulate and install games under linux i wil lose it )
hdb = Gentoo Linux
hdc = backup Fat32 drive
I'll explain what i did according to http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/build.xml:
Code: | Codelisting 39:
# grub |
Code: | Codelisting 40:
grub> root (hd1,0)
grub> setup (hd1)
grub> quit |
Code: | Codelisting 41 (nano -w /boot/grub/menu.lst):
default 0
timeout 30
splashimage=(hd0,0)/boot/grub/splash.xpm.gz
title=My example Gentoo Linux
root (hd1,0)
kernel /boot/bzImage root=/dev/hdb3
title=Windows 2k
root (hd0,0)
chainloader +1 |
I can enable in my bios to boot from hda or hdb
when I enable hda I boot Win2k
when I enable hdb I boot in Grub and get all those Grubs in my screen.
I want to solve this with the boot.ini in Win2k
but first my grub problem

What partitions do you have on /dev/hdb? _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |
