The latest tftpboot image on gentoo mirrors (experimental/sparc/tftpboot/sparc64/gentoo-sparc64-2005.0-20050717.tftpboot) has a 2.4 kernel which is too old to use with a gentoo 2007.0 stage tarball.
Is there a newer one somewhere, or does anyone have any pointers for building my own?
I'm trying to install gentoo 2007.0 on a workstation which has no optical drive. |

Thanks gust4voz. It booted fine, though my USB keyboard is not working... I guess some USB driver is missing. I could try a serial port boot.
I'd be interested to find out how to make a tftpboot image with a custom kernel if it's not too arcane... are there docs anywhere? |

Andrew (agaffney) is working on the netboot images at the moment, basically they're made with a patched-up version of catalyst that's not in the tree at the moment.
Since they're experimental they may lack some stuff (maybe he left the USB stuff as modules or so).
If you're interested in helping it's better to get into #gentoo-sparc on irc.freenode.net since that's where we hang out. _________________ Gustavo Zacarias
