lostlogic and I were racing but he pulled out the win and got the gaim-0.64-r2 ebuild out before I did. This ebuild uses the new gaim-encryption 2.00beta that uses mozilla NSS for encryption instead of openssl. Using openssl was causing GPL problems for him, so now it's all set.
I have discovered one problem in crashing with encryption when using the Yahoo! protocol, the gaim-encryption author is working on fixing that. |

From an IM conversation with the gaim-encryption author.

(16:05:26) Bill Tompkins: my target is to fix up the known bugs/issues and release early next week

Except that I don't see how butting a binary on the site with the encryption plugin violates the GPL. All components of the gaim-encryption (and indeed gaim itself) are available in source form. I can go to the openssl page and download the source. |

That I will not explore. You are welcome to contact the author, as it is his sole decision what he wants to do and why he wants to do it.
It's just my job to get it compiling for you. |
