|
|
After reading the forums and other help sources, I've been able to use hotplug and supermount to automatically mount my USB digital camera when I plug it in.
However, for the sake of other family members it would be rather fab if, when plugging the camera in, konqueror would pop up and show the pictures in the camera. I've tracked down the script that hotplug causes to be executed when the camera is plugged in (/etc/hotplug/usb/usb-storage), but of course I can't just add code to test if the device plugged in is the camera, and then run konqueror - for a start, the script is not run as the user who is logged in when the camera is activated.
So, I'd love to know if anyone knows a recipe, or another source of information, or even can tell me that it's not possible.
Many thanks,
Rob |

Rob,
I remember using RedHat and when inserting a cd it would always mount it and pull up nautilus. It annoyed the crap out of me, but it seems it can be done. Maybe looking at amd (auto mount daemon) would help. Other than that I'm not sure how you would get this functionality. Hope this helps,
