Emerging pre-existing packages not updates.

Hey all.

how do i emerege a pre-downloaded package?

E.g. portage tree's latest version of netpbm is 10.11.5-r2
However i already have 9.12 downloaded and in tgz format in the distfiles directory.

For the bandwidth impared how do i do this. I don't want to have to download packages again.

Is it possible also to do this recursively for all dependancies?
