Hello fellow Gentoo's
I got myself a Compaq laptop and I am about to start out the install on this one.
What I would like to know is pointers on what to think about when installing on a Laptop.
Any kernel better than the other? On my desktop I use XFS sources and really like them.
Then I'm sure to use Gnome or KDE even if I mainly use Fluxbox on desktops. The "mouse click" is worthless in Flux and imho its the easiest way to select with a laptop(touchpad).
And also, I would love to hear about + and - with APM and ACPI. Wich is the one to go with.
Please make my life a little easier for the following install week.
Thank you,

Thanks.
The later site was exactly what I was looking for, about ACPI. The Gentoo isntall CD crashes when trying ACPI so I just installed with APM. But I will switch to ACPI as soon as I get everything up. _________________ A bus station is where a bus stops, a train station is where a train stops. On
