Hi,
etcat , the most useful tool after emerge itself got dropped from favour some time back but was kindly included somewhere tucked away in doc for those who wanted to continue using this great little tool.
now dependancy peralysis is catching up with it.
emerge -p world fails because kdelibs needs portage needs >=sys-apps/coreutils-6.4.
The latter breaks etcat.
If we no longer have the choice of using etcat what simple command can concisely resume available package versions like this?
Code: | bash-3.2#etcat -v portage
[ Results for search key : portage ]

Only printing found installed programs.
* sys-apps/portage :

[ ] 2.1.1-r2 (0)
[ ~I] 2.1.2 (0) OVERLAY

[ ~ ] 2.1.2.5 (0)
