/lib/tls/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.4' not found

hi. i just fscked my root partition and e2fsck moved all the files to lost and found,so i had to place back all the directories but /bin was missing so i copied /bin files from gentoo livecd 2006.1 to my root partition and now i can't boot gentoo coz it gets stuck at "Booting:initram".i can only chroot to it through the livecd but gives /lib/tls/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.4' not found when i run any /bin commmands.please help :cry:
