mplayer only starts docked in the slit

Whenever I launch mplayer in fluxbox it always puts the gui for mplayer in the slit. It will not allow me to move it out of the slit.
I read all of the man pages and looked over the docs on the
fluxbox site and could not find out how to keep this from happening

nevermind this post. I just figured out that you can only drag the gui from the bottom left where it is grey in color. I was trying to move it by clicking on the blue part. I am using the default skin btw. God I feel stupid.
