Hey,
I just finished install gentoo!!! I had a few problems with my kernel and modules and so on but i believe i got it going good. I was also able to get into gnome with alot of searching these forums for help with mouse modules and keyboard modules!!! oh man it was rough but i learned tons!! But i have a question that is starting to bug me alot! I searched and searched and come up with nothing so my question is Why can't I su - to root? whenever i try I get Permission Denied? Its like its not accepting my password? I can login to the system fine i can start gnome fine and login to gnome with root fine. But when I try anything such as Root Terminal and it asks me for my password that wont work. Or if i use the adduser program from gnome and it asks for a password it says permission denied as well? Anyone know why this is happening I KNOW my password is correct!!
Thanks

You must be in "wheel" group to be able to su to root. |
